Attwater Prairie

.
If birds were scarce on Sunday's birding walk at Attwater, wildflowers were not. These are just some of the many species we saw. I hope I've IDed them correctly!

 Bull Nettle
 Alophia drummondii
 Plains Wild Indigo
 Wine Cup
 Phlox (?)

One of the few patches of water had some beautiful waterlilies.

Butterflies were plentiful, too, although the windy conditions made it impossible to photograph most of them. I missed getting pictures of Monarchs and Common Buckeyes but this swallowtail was moving more slowly, perhaps because its wings were damaged.

Surprisingly, I saw only a single dragonfly.
