.
A couple of birds have been driving me nuts lately.
One is a young Red-bellied Woodpecker that comes to the suet feeder in our front yard. It's so shy that it won't visit at all when I'm in the yard. The only picture I've managed to get is this one, taken through a window.
At present, this bird has so little color on its head that I can't even tell whether it's a male or a female.
The other elusive bird is a male Ruby-throated Hummingbird, who is absolutely stunning when his gorget catches the light. Unfortunately, whenever I raise the camera, he moves to the back of the feeder and so all I get are partial shots.
Luckily, some of the female Ruby-throated are less sneaky.
