On the Katy Prairie

.
Thursday morning we had more dram
atic skies over the college.

Some flowers seemed almost luminous in the early morning light.

As it had rained recently, there were signs of animal life everywhere.

Later in the day, I was able to drive over to Paul Rushing Park.

As is often the case on the prairie, there were some beautiful
cloudscapes.

The park was largely empty of birds and the wind was so strong that it was difficult to photograph even the few I did see.

This Red-tailed Hawk let me get close enough to grab a quick shot ...

while a Horned Lark kept just too far away for me to get a good photo.
