I live in San Antonio and the western kingbirds returned this week too. A number of them live and nest in the parking lot trees at our neighborhood HEB grocery store. We enjoy seeing them as we come and go from the store.
They're a little bit less common here than in the Hill Country. As far as I know, the ones at the college are the only ones that nest in Harris County.
